GEORGE LYNCH Is Still Hopeful Classic DOKKEN Lineup Will Play More Shows

In a brand new interview with Metal Wani, guitar legend George Lynch was asked if there has been any talk between him and Don Dokken about the classic lineup of DOKKEN making one final studio record together. He responded: "We did about a year and a half ago. Jeff [Pilson, former DOKKEN bassist] and I were just starting to work on what became THE END MACHINE record. And for a minute, we were thinking it could be a DOKKEN record, if we could only get Don onboard. So at that point, we were talking to him about it, but obviously, it didn't happen."

George was also asked whether the classic DOKKEN lineup will ever do another U.S. tour. "Your guess is as good as mine," he responded. "At this moment, nothing like that's happening. But I would like to think so, since the four of us are still relatively healthy and alive and on planet earth, it would probably make sense. But I don't know. You've gotta get all four people to agree to do that, and that's tricky."

DOKKEN's classic lineup — Dokken, Lynch, Pilson and drummer "Wild" Mick Brown — reunited for a short Japanese tour in the fall of 2016. The trek marked the first time in 21 years the four musicians had hit the road together.

Since completing the Japanese reunion dates, DOKKEN has continued to perform with the group's current lineup — including bassist Chris McCarvill and guitarist Jon Levin — save for a handful of recent shows that saw drummer BJ Zampa (HOUSE OF LORDS) fill in for Brown.

A DOKKEN concert DVD focusing on the band's reunion tour, "Return To The East Live (2016)", was made available last year.

DOKKEN is currently working on material on a new studio album, tentatively due in 2020 via Silver Lining Music, the label owned by Thomas Jensen, one of the founders of Germany's Wacken Open Air festival. It will mark the group's first disc since 2012's "Broken Bones".
